Need help on a pattern!

Need some advice on a knitting pattern. The sequence i'm following is "K1 P1 (M1 K2) twice M1 K1 P1 K1 P1 (M1 K2) twice M1 K1 P1 K1," but i'm only ending up with 23 stitches instead of the 26 the pattern says I should have. Can anyone help me figure out what I might be missing?

You might be missing a stitch increase somewhere in the (M1 K2) twice M1 sections. Make sure you're counting the M1s individually they each add a stitch. Double check each repeat to see if one got skipped
